As you may or may not know, we are on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, which is, in our opinion, the best place in the world to live. There is big cities, small cities, cute towns, and sweet little villages (we are located in the sweetest little village of Qualicum Beach). Vancouver Island has miles of sandy beaches, beautiful mountains and breathtaking views. We love it here. But in order to own our house we traded space for location. So we don't have the room for a dedicated playroom for our little nugget. And if the nugget ever has a sibling they will share a room. So finding the space for her to play is has been my mission since she started moving around.
When the bebeh was still an ittty bitty baby, we got rid of our coffee table and made a safe area for her right smack dab in the middle of our living room. We would throw down a quilt and then her play gym and she would have the space to wiggle and roll and do all the important little baby things that little babies do. And as time went on she began to crawl, and so on and so forth and started to try and pull herself up on all sorts of stuff: a plant, her dad's leg, the dog, the bookshelf, in short all sorts of things that were completely unstable and and probably kinds of dangerous. And then we went on a massive 'making the house safe for the nugget' spree. We attached the TV to the wall, and earthquake proofed all of the bookshelves etc etc. After all that was done we started to look for solutions to our new problem: what is safe item that our child can use to practice standing that won't become obsolete in a few months, because there is literally nothing I dislike more than a huge glob of plastic that takes up space and then is a waste because babies learn to stand and walk pretty quickly. So in a slice of brilliance I realized that the answer to several of our problems was a Plan Toys Play Table.
